Comprehensive TB Care and Nutrition Support Initiative
A 6-Month Project Supported by ONGC Cambay & Implemented by Indian Red Cross Society, Anklav Taluka Branch
The Indian Red Cross Society, Anklav Taluka Branch, with generous support from ONGC Cambay, has launched a 6-month Comprehensive TB Care and Nutrition Support Initiative to provide sustained nutritional aid to TB patients across the region. This initiative, under ONGC Cambay’s CSR commitment, aims to enhance patient recovery, improve treatment outcomes, and promote awareness of the vital role of nutrition in TB care.
Project Overview:
Duration: 6 months (February – July 2025)
Coverage Area: TB patients registered across identified PHCs in Khambhat Taluka
Objective: To provide consistent nutritional support to TB patients, improving their health and treatment adherence
Key Components of the Initiative:
Monthly Distribution of Nutrition Kits – TB patients receive essential food supplies every month for six months, including pulses, rice, wheat flour, jaggery, cooking oil, dates, and peanuts, ensuring a well-balanced diet to support their recovery.
Health Monitoring & Follow-ups – Regular tracking of beneficiaries' weight, nutrition intake, and overall treatment progress to assess the impact of the programme.
Community Engagement & Awareness – Educational sessions for patients and caregivers on the importance of nutrition in TB treatment and overall well-being.
Strengthening Healthcare Support – Collaboration with local PHCs, healthcare professionals, and volunteers to ensure effective implementation and beneficiary outreach.
Programme Kick-off Event:
The initiative was officially launched on 20th February 2025 at Adhyatmik Hall, Near Chaklod Ground, Khambhat, marking the first phase of nutrition kit distribution. The event was graced by the presence of:

Through this 6-month project, we aim to enhance the nutritional well-being of TB patients, reduce treatment dropout rates, and contribute to a healthier, TB-free society. With continued support from ONGC Cambay, this initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaboration in driving positive change.
